Last Lap and Lap Car Collision finishing P7 at CRA Sportsman Division - Anderson Speedway 6/17/2022.
P7 after running P3 on last lap. Last lap collision with lap car. Not enough motor against competition. Some minor vanity cosmetic damage along with lap car drama. White Chevy work truck blew engine after leaving track in Indiana requiring a rental car from AVIS and a tow from AAA after breaking down in Indiana. Made it to Hazelwood Missouri around 5 am. Luckily, we have junk trucks to use in the interim. HAPPY FATHERS' DAY! Thanks to all who helped race and helped us get to the track including those who like and promote our race team as our sponsors and followers.

A fight to the end taking P1 Danny Trent and P2 Charlie Keeven at Anderson Speedway on 5/13/2023.
There were no givens and veteran status was only a label in this 75 lap race. Charlie Keeven qualified on the pole and with the invert started 6th, took the lead and then the track champion dove in and took the lead for numerous laps. After the restart on lap 39, Charlie passed the track champ moving behind Danny Trent the leader and Charlie finished P2. Trophy accepting and speeches followed track pictures and victory! Charlie improved his mistakes from last week's race, improved his passing and cleanliness of driving, improved his qualifying time and is learning to make less mistakes thanks to coach Danny. Feature race from last caution lap 39 to the end of the race.

1st time at New Smyrna - World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing - 2/9 to 2/17/2023.
This is the longest running race raced and attended. The first night, Thursday, was open practice. Friday was the 1st of 6, 35 lap races ending with one 100 lap race on Friday 2/17/2023. Kim overpacked, Dan kept losing the duct tape, Chuck forgot to put back the tools back where he got them and Charlie learned a lot. The car got both dialed in and christened in a crash. Duct tape was used in some races just to get the car back on the track, so we all got worried when the duct tape disappeared during racing. The first race on Friday 2/10/2023 got rained out and scratched. We qualified P7 to start P1 with the invert we had the pole. No race due to rain. The second race on Saturday 2/11/2023 qualified P10 and raced up to P6. The third race on Sunday 2/12/2023 qualified P8 and raced up to P6. The fourth race on Monday 2/13/2023 qualified P12 and raced up to P6. Feeling pretty good about everything at this point. Tuesday 2/14/2023 was a break to return on Wednesday 2/15/2023. The fifth race on Wednesday 2/15/2023, 13 was not our number. We qualified at P13 and finished P27. On lap 13 malicious ignorance wrecks the car. The hood flew off then we got a black flag because other parts were flying off upon intentional collision. The sixth race on Thursday 2/16/2023 we tried to get back into the race. We thought everything was okay then the radiator blew water over the tire losing control of the car into the wall after we had to tape the car up to continue to race the weekend. We qualified P11 with best lap at 16 but wrecking on lap 17 taking us out of the races for the weekend. We had fun and got our feet wet on a long race week. We'll try again next year. It is better if you have more than one car so you can park that car upon wreckage and concentrate on the spare car with a long race week. We had a crew of six at one time mostly Danny Trent as Crew Chief, Charlie Keeven as driver, Kim Keeven as photo and media woman and crew, Chuck Keeven as crew, Mark Lambert spotter and Kent Baledge, a fellow racer, helping get the Car on track after initial collision. Thank you for all your efforts and support. We were not able to race Thursday night nor the 100-lap race on Friday 2/17/2023. Everyone went home with some new knowledge acquired over a 9-day race schedule. Charlie and Kim also raced go-karts at Orlando Kartplex to end the race week on Friday 2/17/2023. It too was fun!

Go Pro Motorplex Karting Challenge #10 11/12/2022 in North Carolina.
Charlie raced both the K100 and the Briggs Senior classes. There was no practice for the K100 due to the rain of tropical storm Nicole. Charlie got P19 in Qualifying and P19 in the Pre-final ending with P23 for the K100 class out of 35 racers. Charlie got crashed out the first turn and was able to get back into the race with very minor damage. He got P3 in Practice for the Senior Briggs, P5 Qualifying, P6 Pre-final and P8 Final out of 22 racers. This race was at night. He was up to P4. Charlie said the dark tinted visor affected his depth perception and at times could barely see. Next night race he will run a clear visor.

King of the Karts 11/6/2022.
Two females raced amongst the men and the coincidence of both being named Kimberly is an unlikely probability. I use the nickname Kim and stayed the entire race to be included in the group photo. This was my goal, to begin with, which was to photo-bomb the males, especially Charlie Keeven. Teammate Brad Parquet won the title, Charlie took fourth, and Kim took 56 out of 60 drivers. Overall, it was a fun day!

Champ Charlie won Qualifying & both races -11/3/2022. He's competing in the King of Kart on Sunday!
Charlie won the qualifying race and both final races 11 and 12 of the Adult Fall League. This got him a guaranteed paid-for spot for the King of Kart race on 11/6/2022, along with 12 free general races and two Blues Hockey tickets. He increased his Top Pro Score to 5585, making him P2 out of 12 Top Pro Scores.

P1 and P3 Victory Raceway 10/27/2022 Races 9 and 10 with 21 racers in the Fall Adult League Series.
Charlie wants a spot in the King of King's race on Sunday, November 6, 2022. There were 21 racers in the Fall Adult League Series on 10/27/2022 splitting the racers into two groups. There are two more Adult League Series Races 11 and 12 on Thursday, November 3, 2022, before the King of King's race. The Champion of the Fall Adult League Series wins a free ticket ($100) to the King of King's race and three free general race tickets. Charlie increased his Pro Skill level by another 333 points to P3 in the Top Pro Skill Scores.

Ozarks International Raceway - P3 2x on the 3.97-mile track,19 corners, and 1200 feet elevation!
A need for speed was fulfilled for Charlie Keeven at a highly elevated track at speeds of 75 mph. Charlie's first visit was a victory for the team in his home state of Missouri. This was the first go-kart event at the track, and we were glad to be a part of its history. This was an Enduro race meaning it takes endurance to complete this race. Each race was 25 minutes in duration. Josh Merklin did not finish either race due to technical difficulties. Charlie and Josh were the only two team members who accepted the challenge the Ozarks International Raceway presented.

Victories at Victory Adult League 10/20/2022 Qualified P2 and P1 for both races. Ready to be King!
Snap, Crackle, and Pop, Charles Keeven, wrapped up the Adult League races 7 and 8 victoriously, increasing his pro-skill score by over 376 points, putting him 3rd with a Top Pro skill score of 5281. His best lap time is 27.445 seconds. He continues to race outside of league time, positively or negatively affecting pro skill scores and changing overall Top Pro skill ratings. Some drivers do not race outside leagues to keep their positive pro skill ratings, not risking a negative impact on their pro skill score.
